Bio

My name is Stephen, born and raised in South Central Pennsylvania on December 28th, 1984.  From a very young age I enjoyed playing video games. My interests were geared toward the music in them more than the game itself at times. There were moments when I'd spend hours just listening to all the different music tracks in their options menus, imagining scenarios where they would be used in those games or other theatrical type events.

After I graduated High School in 2003, it wasn't long after until I decided to join the United States Navy, due to being unsure of what I wanted to do with my life.  I ended up getting a jumpstart into a career in the medical field as a Surgical Technologist with the help of the military and after my enlistment was up in 2008, it continued on when I was a civilian again.  However, I never forgot about music.  Through my life I strived to teach myself as much as I could regarding music and it's structure, eventually leading me to play the guitar and piano. I would practice any moment I had the chance.  I would also explore and tinker with any DAW I could get my hands on and eventually became very comfortable with midi, VSTs, and dynamic processing.  Now I’m able to create my own scores and tracks.

I love exploring many different bands and genres, getting my hands on any CDs or cassette tapes I can find, even listening to the radio nonstop looking for new hits and finding what makes them tick. The Internet makes finding new and old artists easy, but allows those to be heard that would never have been able to before. I've always wanted to make my own music and I loved when people would bob their heads to a track I made or love how it brought something to life. After many years in my current career unrelated to music I decided it was time. Something happened February 14, 2013 that changed my life. My Daughter Alysha was born and ever since then I realized there is only so much time we have left in this world. It woke me up to my desire to want to make composing music my new career. She was a key factor in what motivated me take the next step and learn how I could become part of the industry. I have been inspired to want to do more things with my life than I ever could have imagined.

Full Sail made those dreams possible.  I graduated from Full Sail Online with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production March, 2016. Learning all that I could and perfecting skills I already knew and those I didn't. It was only a matter of time until the next chapter in my life unfolded.  I am eager to take on this new path that will allow me to explore and use my love and passion for music as a career.  Through many hours spent tweaking sound and working to bring each project I’ve encountered to new heights, I feel I truly have become more of a music professional.  My first plan is to gain all the experience I can by searching for jobs that require a keen ear for the right sound for the right project.  Whether it is music for a small town indie video game company, or a full cinematic orchestral piece for a movie, I will be up for the task and willing to work with anyone that has the same spirit of music as myself.  With each project comes more experience and I will do whatever I can to get the right sound.

Please feel free to take some time to get to know what I can do and learn a little bit more about me through my accomplishments and previous projects, even those who recommend me.  If you have any questions or perhaps offer a collaborative endeavor, please don’t hesitate to check out my contact page.  I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
